The Newport School is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education, and is a candidate for accreditation through the Middle State Association of Colleges and Schools.

The Newport School is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the Organization of Child Care Directors, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum and Development and the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce.
Dress Code:
The Newport School believes that neat, attractive dress promotes good work habits and stimulates pride. Therefore, uniforms are required for students in Grades 1 through 12.
School Hours:
Pre-school through Lower School begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m.
Middle and Prep School begins at 8:20 a.m. and ends at 3:35 p.m.
After Hours are scheduled from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. and from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
