The Newport School has, for more than 75 years, provided a unique and challenging curriculum, and has been a model for true diversity in a scholastic institution. A Newport education combines excellence in education and high academic standards using both traditional and innovative teaching. In addition, we take pride in our 100% college acceptance rate.

The face of our student population represents the face of America's future. Our student body is probably the most diverse for an independent school in Washington. Over 60% are people of color, coming from Asian, Middle Eastern and Latino/Hispanic backgrounds, with African Americans representing 39% of our very diverse student body makeup.

The Newport School is building out a new facility in Silver Spring to provide a permanent and ideal space for the school's nursery through 12th grade students, faculty and administration, as well as for all the numerous expansion plans.

Now we need your help! Newport's expansion allows you to get involved in our strong and pioneering school in a very tangible way, through naming opportunities and community partnerships. Naming rights include the school's auditorium; a first class sports facility; state-of-the-art classroom technology; and a media center offering relevant resources for students and the community. Community partnerships reflect innovative collaborations with our growing signature curriculum, "International Arts and Culture," and include partnering with foundations and area cultural organizations such as the American Film Institute.
