Mission Statement:
Newport School challenges its N-12 students with a diverse, rigorous, personal education, designed to ensure development of balanced, knowledgeable, responsible, independent individuals. We teach and nurture creative choice-making, based in analysis and compassionate humanity.
Philosophy:
We believe that all students must be encouraged and taught to discover their own interests, strengths, and self-worth. We educate students to make choices that will enable them to become leaders in their world, as they pursue their personal passions. They must be taught skills of self-expression, and to respect the opinions and rights of others. Our increasingly global community provides and requires experiences we facilitate to foster understanding, respect, and appreciation of diversity in all of its forms. Social and academic discovery cultivates values of compassion, independent thinking, and intellectual curiosity. We are a community of values-based thinkers, nurturing the skills in our students that they need to live rewarding, productive lives in an ever-changing, increasingly accessible world.
