Health Information and Forms
When Children at School Are Sick
Students who are not feeling well should request permission from a classroom teacher to go to the nurse or acting nurse. The nurse may allow an ill student to rest before sending him/her back to class. If the nurse determines that the student is too ill to stay in school, parent(s) will be contacted and arrangements made for the student to leave school.
No medication will be administered to a student without written parental authorization or a physician order. Prior to the beginning of school, the Newport School will send parents authorization forms and specific instructions for dispensing of prescribed medications and first aid preparations.
